Course Overview

Many of us are looking for fun and engaging ways to keep our dogs active and mentally stimulated at home. I’m excited to offer an online Essential Sport Skills class! This class will be a really flexible way to enjoy summer training with your dog while building key foundations that support any dog sport you want to explore!

This flexible 7-week online course is a great way to enjoy summer training while building solid foundations for any dog sport you’d like to explore.

How It Works

This 7-week online course will be run through a private Facebook group where lessons will be posted and each student can post their own videos for review!

Each week, I’ll post:

• • Two skills to work on for that week.

  • Plus an extra skill for those who want to get an early start on the next week!

  • You’ll be able to post up to 5 minutes of video each week for personalized feedback from me 

Multiple short clips are totally fine! No need for polished videos, casual training footage from your phone in PJs is more than welcome! Video can be posted directly to Facebook or shared via YouTube link.

Live Zoom Sessions

• Weekly live Zoom calls every Tuesday at 6:30pm PT:Aug 19, 26 • Sept 2, 9, 16, 23
• Sessions include Q&A, skill review, and a weekly discussion topic.
• All Zooms are recorded and shared in the group.

• Stay proofing
• Marker word use
• Collar and leash skills
• Pivot work
• Kickback stands
• Backing up
• Hand signals
• Jump bounces
• Cone sends and wraps
• Leg weaves
• Spins
• Primary search patterns (box work)
• Fold-back downs
• Disc rollers (intro to throwing)

What You’ll Need

• Facebook account
  • Feel free to create one under your dog’s name if you prefer
• Minimal equipment
  • Most supplies can be found at home or at a dollar store
• Small training space
  • All exercises are suitable for indoor training

After the Course

• Feedback available on posted videos until September 30
• Access to course materials remains open until December 31, 2025
